The Holidays season is the ideal season to practice mantel decorating: You CAN'T FAIL!

How can there be too much Holiday spirit?

My recommendation: Learn from the experts, use their mantels as inspiration !

Find a picture you like (and that uses things you already have at home to make it cheaper and less stressful). Be sure to stick to your the template you chose.

To get you started, I commented below on mantels that caught my eye on the internet.

Have Fun!

Traditional with a twist: Ornaments are resting on the mantel, the green garland is hanging below
Modern Warm Natural Cozy without greens...

Traditional with a twist

Colors: Red and white/silver

Green doesn't really count...

It works well with a white background

They reused their own candlesticks simply changing the candles to their red theme.

There is no greenery ON the mantel, the ornaments, all red and white, are simply restin on the mantel

They formed a triangle with the candle sticks on both sides and the wreath, higher, in the center

Crafty Cozy Modern Warm

If you don't have ornaments left...

Hang stockings (tape, COMMAND hook or pins) you have, hopefully one color dominate.

Use this dominant color to cut 5 ribbons at the lengths of the right ribbons here.

Hang 5 large stars/wreath cut out of paper or made of branches... ALL in the same color is KEY, and picking a color of the stokings is bettler!

Group candles or glasses with candles by waves (smaller on the left, wider and the widest on the right). ALL in the same color, it is KEY!

Lush and colorful

Lush & Colorful

You have ornaments in many different colors?

Use them to decorate a lush garland, follow an equatorial feel

Add an exotic flower (orchids are so easy to find), place on the other side of the mantel a group of colorful candle sticks, or vases or wine glasses up-side down to hold candles

Minimalist & Blue

You don't want to put a Christmas tree, you are ready for a modern take?

Use branches (you may already have them in your backyard or year around) to hang ornaments ALL in the SAME color/

Use several gloass containers (again you may have them already) to hold your branches, and candles

Add some similar greenery if you have some (no pine garland), but don't worry if you don't have any, this style works also without greenery.

The choice of this green composition with exotic, shiny, clean, large leaves is what works - Beware: a traditional pine garland would not tie into the minimalist style.

Happy Decorated Holidays!
