How to Enjoy the Little Things in Life- A Minimalistic Space

Minimalistic aesthetic has become a major trend nowadays. Learning to embrace the little things and really appreciating what you have is very important. In this blog post, I am going to show you how to have a minimalistic space that will inspire you to live a simplistic life.
Reasons to embrace minimalism:
1. more space
2. less mess = less stress
3. less quantity, more quality
STICK TO A BASIC COLOR SCHEME
I think that a lot of people think of a minimalistic color scheme to be black and white but in actuality it is picking a basic few colors and using them sparingly throughout the space. For example, in the photo to the right, the color scheme is black, white, and grey but also incorporates a little light pink here and there. Neutrals are perfect for a minimalistic aesthetic!
KEEP OUT THE CLUTTER
... and stick to the NECESSITIES. Only keep what is truly necessary to have in your room. Too much decor and accessories can be fun, but if you are going for a minimalistic look... tone down with the knick knacks.
GET INSPIRED
Use quotes! This is a new trend that is super popular and is a really easy / cheap DIY. It is also a great way to get inspired and motivated! Put quotes or special words in frames, on pillows, or even right on the wall.
PLAY WITH TEXTURES
Since colors will be minimal, it is the perfect opportunity to play with textures, such as a fur rug, throw blanket, or pillow.
MINIMAL DECOR
Like I mentioned earlier, not having a lot of color is very important. Not only will it open up your space, but it will also help you clear your mind. Having minimal decor is very important for this simplistic type of aesthetic... plants and mirrors are perfect! Mirrors open up a small space and plants are beneficial for many reasons in a space.
